About Coleen 

Coleen is a mental health and wellness trainer, educator, and consultant. 

​

A board-certified dance/movement therapist, group psychotherapist, reiki master, and resilience advantage trainer, Coleen has been teaching people about the mind-body wellness connection for more than 30 years.

​

Her therapy draws upon her postgraduate education and work experience in clinical psychology, somatic psychology, mindfulness, and dance/movement therapy to guide people in accessing their “whole self” and discovering “embodied well-being”.  For this purpose, she developed an approach called CCMotion.

Coleen Lorenz

Education and Other Roles

Coleen is a board certified dance/movement therapist, group psychotherapist, resilience advantage trainer, and reiki master. She received her Bachelor and Master degrees from UCLA in the area of clinical psychology with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy. Coleen has presented on mind/body wellness at conferences, retreats, and events throughout California. She offers trainings and workshops in neuropsychology and the healing power of neural arts using movement, creativity, and play.

Coleen is co-founder of the non-profit Arts Unity Movement (AUM), providing education and workshops in the expressive arts therapies. She is Artistic Director of the AUM performance group; a multimedia theatre and dance troupe providing storyline messages about unity, inclusivity, compassion, and connection in today’s world. Coleen served as professor and Director of the Dance Department at Notre Dame de Namur University from 2003-2017. She is currently adjunct professor at Cañada College and Notre Dame High School teaching courses in psychology, dance, mindful movement and meditation.

A Holistic Approach

CCMotion is centered around the idea of conscious movement. I believe that movement and mindfulness go hand in hand, and that by combining these two practices, I can help you achieve optimal physical and mental health. My individual sessions and wellness programs are designed to be inclusive and accessible to clients of all ages and fitness levels, and I strive to create a supportive and welcoming environment where you can feel comfortable exploring, healing, and growing.
